New Motor Ushers in Technological Revolution

STOP scientists have confirmed a patent on a new high efficiency resonance motor that will revolutionize how human beings power their worlds. Based on Norberto Keppe's landmark discoveries outlined in his book, The New Physics, the motor displays efficiency codes far above traditional motors and electrical energy consumption at a tiny fraction of anything else on the market.

Named the KMotor - or Keppean motor - the device can be used in many areas where human beings use motors now, except with drastically reduced demands on the environment. Stopping the Destruction - An Inside Job

We've got so many environmental groups now trying to save this species, that piece of rain forest, change this law, lobby to that group of lawmakers. And thank God for all of them. But somehow, our problems are not lessening. Watch Al Gore's documentary and the graphic evidence will shock you. Everything destructive is going up on the graphs. And rapidly so.

Some say it's because we haven't evolved sufficiently, that we're still trapped in an old paradigm of thinking. Somehow, I think the problem is more basic than that. According to the STOP the Destruction of the World Association, which is connected very closely with Dr. Norberto Keppe's psychological perspective, it seems we are not reaching the root causes of our problems. Let's explore that a little more today on our program.

Censorship and Illness

In his landmark book on psychopathology, The Origin of Illness, Dr. Norberto Keppe write, "Man's inglorious struggle, which Freud called resistance, is a struggle against the consciousness of error. There is no one who does not abhor seeing his mistakes."

Those words have been prophetic in psychological circles. By going beyond Freudian interpretations, patients are led towards a broader view of a better world and begin to see how to deal with all aspects of their lives - not merely a narrow-minded view. Keppe's work expands the possibilities for psychologists to truly cure human beings at the root of their problems.

Keppe's Origin of Illness outlines the triangle of neurosis as envy and censorship of that envy leading to projection. As he says, "The human condition can be summed up this way: in order to gain knowledge, we must conscientize our mistakes; that is, become aware of them. But because we have enormous resistance to seeing them, we curtail our knowledge and fall into a state of non-being. This is our pathology."

True Glory

An Analysis of Freedom

The greatest revolutions in human history have all had one overriding objective:
freedom. Of expression, of religion, freedom from tyranny, or injustice. Personal
freedom is something that many of us take for granted. Others dream and scheme and
protest because freedom has been denied them. Is there anything then left to be said
about freedom?

Actually, yes.

We started to get confused about freedom a long time ago. According to the Biblical legend, the first humans thought they were free to choose between good and evil. Back in the 14th Century, an English monk named William of Ockham opined that freedom was the essence of life, and this has driven particularly our Anglo-Saxon civilization to thinking that whatever makes us feel free is perfectly justifiable.

But Immanuel Kant had a more cautionary point of view, noting that human beings wanted to be free to do evil. Kant seemed to understand that not all human intentions are good, and this makes the striving for freedom a little more complex.

How can we understand this essential issue better? Through the work of the Austrian-Brazilian psychoanalyst and social scientist, Norberto Keppe. His studies into the human will are illuminating and clarifying.

Helping Young People Cope

We think most of the time that it's damn difficult to get old. But from everything I see in the world today, it's no picnic being young either.

Getting lost in Internet chatrooms and games. School violence. Diagnosis for psychological conditions I never even heard of when I was in school. It's a complicated world for teens and kids these days. And we haven't even mentioned the looming environmental disasters that face them as they enter the adult world.

Truly Indecent Conduct

I'm a teacher in Brazil, and we work with Norberto Keppe's psychological discoveries very directly in the classroom to help people learn a language. That means we consider many themes that are quite a bit more profound than is usual in a language classroom. Like philosophy, the nature of existence, how to truly cope with stress, and many other themes that you can hear me talk about in my Podcast, Thinking with Somebody Else's Head.

Many times, my students ask me questions about practical situations in their lives. How to deal with a difficult boss or family member, how to be healthier, how to cope with depression or negativity. Makes for a very interesting language class, to say the least.

In response, I often grab a text from one of Dr. Keppe's books, or, like today, select an excerpt from his excellent television program to demonstrate something.

This is a very nice section where Keppe deals specifically with some ideas about what is truly indecent behavior. Might give you some real food for thought about how you conduct your life.

Some Steps to a Just Society

There are many of us these days who feel that mankind has lost its way. Too much materialism. Too much greed. Too much corruption. Our problems are increasing, and we're not solving them.

And that's in our materially affluent First World. We can hardly imagine the suffering in the poorer parts of the world. Sure, we're aware of it periodically when the late-night fund raising ads from well-meaning charitable organizations bring their troubling images into our living rooms. And it's important to have continued consciousness that there are those in our world who are completely excluded from the inalienable right of the pursuit if happiness insisted upon in that magnificent document known as the American Constitution.

And it's not enough to stop a little in our drive to acquire more, more, more. We need a consistent focus on creating a more just society.

Norberto Keppe has been extremely eloquent and passionate on this theme in his extensive literature. Listen:

It is a fact that this magnificent figure of the Statue of Liberty is being comercialized - illustrating clearly what has happened to the freedom of the human being, freedom which is gradually being destroyed by those who hold social and economic power, people invested with enough power to enslave their fellow men - all in the name of freedom.

The intention of my work is to awaken the consciousness of the human being to this problem so that the flame of liberty which burns in the heart of the world. What is Analytical Trilogy

If you've been listening to my Podcast, Thinking with Somebody Else's Head, you've heard me mention the work of Norberto Keppe, the Brazilian/Austrian psychoanalyst and social scientist, many times. I think his work is vital to understand if we're going to get to the root causes of human problems on Earth.

You see, it's not enough to point our fingers at the usual culprits - profit-mad corporations, war-driven leadership, ill-conceived technology. As much a part of the problem as those things are, the real reasons we are destroying our world lie between our ears. The human psyche is very much worth understanding if we're to come to grips with the massive human destruction of the planet that we see going on all around us. And that is escalating.

Keppe is very far ahead of the curve in his understanding of how human beings operate. His television programs are circulating all over the world these days - in more than twenty-one countries actually. What he has to say deserves serious consideration in the highest educational and philosophical and political institutions in the world. This video podcast is another way to get his ideas out there.

The Root Cause of our Destruction of the World

Thanks to the work of many dedicated individuals and organizations, light has been shed on a large number of the world's social and ecological issues. And much has been done to galvanize public opinion and support.

And yet ... VERY LITTLE HAS CHANGED.

In fact, the destruction not only continues, but is increasing alarmingly.

Despite all of the worthy efforts, it appears we are not identifying the primary cause of our problems.

This is the sole reason for the existence of STOP.

The Origin of the Destruction in the World - Psycho-Socio-Pathology

The problems of our world - humger and poverty, war, environmental degradation, human rights violations, the extinction of species, etc. - all result from a deeper psychological sickness inside the human being and his upside down society.

The aim of STOP is to make us conscious of (conscientize) this reality so we can deal with the problems at their source.

The work of STOP is based on the pioneering science of renowned Brazilian psychoanalyst and social scientist, Dr. Norberto Keppe. Over more than 40 years of clinical research, Keppe has uncovered the presence of a fundamental destructive attitude in human beings and society, which he calls Inversion.

Why, to use a few examples, do people take pleasure in smoking, drinking and using drugs, all the while knowing that they are harming or even killing themselves? Why are violent movies and games so popular? Why do people "have fun" risking their lives in extreme sports or high speed driving?

The exploration of Inversion reveals that human beings are actually more attracted toward what is destructive than to what is good and constructive - even though we believe the contrary.

At the societal level, Inversion can be seen through society's inverted values and ways of living. For example, the arrogant are respected while kind and humble people are often scorned ("nice guys finish last!"), war and violence have become ways of "resolving conflicts," and, insidiously, capital and profit have become paramount, more valued than human lives. In this inverted world, the human being serves money, not the other way around. This generates massive injustice and exploitation of people and nature. At the same time, society forces people to be less "human" by encouraging selfishness, materialism and paranoia.

Keppe's science shows us that all of this begins deep in our psychological structure. As Keppe writes, "The cycle is centuries old: humans create an increasingly sick society as they are increasingly sickened by it."

This blog and video podcast explores Keppe's work directly, using excerpts of his television programs (produced in their original Portuguese) with subtitles in English. We have plans to expand to include other languages eventually.
